What You Need to Know About Giving to the Coalition this Holiday Season
To get into the holiday spirit, many of you may be thinking about how to help others who are less fortunate. You may even be thinking about assisting at the Coalition. To make things easier for you, we’ve put together answers to common questions we receive during this time of year about donating and volunteering:
What types of donations do you accept?
We always appreciate monetary donations. For in-kind donations, our Immediate needs list contains most of the items we generally accept. The Coalition is in need of baby wipes, razors and deodorant. We are currently unable to accept used toys and clothing due to a lack of space to sort and store items, as well as sanitation requirements.
However, during this holiday season, we are accepting new Christmas gifts for the children who call the Coalition home. We are asking for gifts for infants and children up to age 17. In addition, we are requesting:
Where can I drop off donations?
Monetary donations may be mailed or dropped off in person. Immediate need donations can also be dropped off at our main campus located at 639 W Central Blvd., in downtown Orlando. We accept donations Monday – Saturday from 9am – 5pm or by appointment.
Holiday gift donations may be dropped off at our Women’s Residential and Counseling Center (WRCC), located at 107 E. Hillcrest Street, the week of December 9th.
How can I volunteer?
We couldn’t do what we do without help from the community. While most of our holiday volunteering opportunities have already been filled, there will be plenty of chances to help at other times during the year. We thank you.
