Our purpose. Our reason. Our mission.
A mission statement’s function is to communicate an organization’s purpose and spell out what it wants to do. It guides the actions of the organization and its employees.
Many of you are familiar with Coalition for the Homeless, but do you know our mission statement?
Our mission is to transform the lives of homeless men, women and children by providing crucial services to end their crisis of homelessness.
This one sentence states our sole reason for existence. So let us explain how, with the community’s support, we do it…
The Coalition operates three facilities – the Center for Women and Families, the Men’s Pavilion (soon to be replaced by the Men’s Service Center), and the Women’s Residential and Counseling Center – as well as a community housing program.
In addition to food and shelter, Coalition residents have access to an onsite Orange County Public Schools LifeStrides adult classroom, Lakeside Behavioral Healthcare mental health counseling, Goodwill Industries job skills training, First Steps Substance Abuse Recovery Program, Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida, and a certified daycare and VPK classroom.
Each of our case-managed clients creates a budget, builds a savings account, and designs a personalized self-sufficiency plan.
With your help, the help of partner organizations, and our residents’ hard work, lives are transformed at the Coalition EVERY DAY!
