Spring break at Coalition for the Homeless
Spring break is a time for students to take a recess from their studies, relax, and for some, travel. But what if you are homeless? What do the millions of children in America that rely on their school for breakfast and lunch do?
Coalition for the Homeless’s Center for Women and Families (CWF) and Women’s Residential and Counseling Center (WRCC) are currently “home” to 62 hardworking students. While Orange County schools are closed for spring break this week, these youngsters have a safe environment to play in and nutritious meals to eat at the Coalition.
In fact, thanks to the Central Florida community’s generosity, students living at the Coalition with their families have a week full of fun activities – everything from dance lessons and movie viewings to a visit from the Easter bunny. Volunteers have been in and out of the Coalition with hula hoops, crafts, and even a clown!
Thank you for helping give our students a wonderful spring break!
