About Us
Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida is the largest provider of homeless services in Central Florida!
Our mission is to transform the lives of homeless men, women, and children by providing crucial services to end their crisis of homelessness.
The Coalition is able to help more than 750 people each day. As one of the few emergency shelters in Orange County that accepts intact families, we see a large number of parents with children in need of support. On any given night, the Coalition provides services to over 250 children, with an average age of eight. Last year, the Coalition served more than 300,000 meals.
We don’t just provide a safety net for emergencies, though. Our goal is to return our residents to self-sufficiency through job training, educational opportunities, counseling, and more.
The community’s support is the key to our success. We depend on all members of the community – individuals, foundations, and corporations – for the support needed to carry out our mission.
Greetings,
I’m interested in working with David to help attract attention to his tremendous effort. My nonprofit organization, HEAR US Inc., has been working hard on this issue for several years.
Anyone working with him that can contact me, I’d appreciate it.
Regards,
Diane
Hello, Diane! We are thrilled to hear that HEAR US Inc. would like to help David promote his summer walk. Although we are partnering with David on a local level, we are not the best ones for you to stay in touch with; instead, you can contact David directly through his blog http://www.helpingstepbystep.blogspot.com. That way, you are going straight to the right person. Best of luck in your efforts!
Herbert Freeman is a homeless man who has been selling his remarkable art in the Parramore and Downtown districts of Orlando for the past decade. I have started a blog in order to document his work.
Mr. Freeman never kept records of his art or who he sold it to. I need to get the word out so people can contact me with information and photos of Mr. Freeman’s work.
The web address of the blog is: http://freemanproject.wordpress.com/
The email address of the blog is: freemanprojectblog@gmail.com
It is my hope that this site can eventually attract critical and scholarly interest in the artwork of Mr. Freeman.
Any help you can offer in passing on the word that I am trying to locate Mr. Freeman’s work would be appreciated.
Yours truly,
James Lane

Homelessness is often airbrushed out of the traditional media and living in a tent should be by choice.
