David Ashby is in Washington, DC!

David Ashby, holding dog Dexter, in front of the Capitol. Way to go, David!
Our “sources” in Washington, DC have shared that David Ashby spent yesterday morning in the halls of Congress. Congressman John Mica’s Chief of Staff, Russell (Rusty) Roberts, spent about three hours with David, escorting him around the Capitol, to a meeting with Senator Mel Martinez and another with staff from Senator Bill Nelson’s office.
Russell’s intention to have David meet with staff from other Florida Congressional offices was – would you believe – thwarted by a fire drill! Russell believes that David is an exceptional young man whose life has forever changed as the result of his trek. We think so, too, and will share more from David this week.
To keep up with David in the last few days of his journey, visit his blog at www.helpingstepbystep.blogspot.com.

Congratulations, David!! Looking forward to hearing more details.
NASCAR drivers get honored at the White House. Um, David Ashby?
Yoo hoo. Mr. President…
David’s incredible efforts, and the hard work of all those who supported him in any way, deserve more than a few Hill meetings.
He walked the walk so homeless kids could have homes, and food, and education, and health care.
Maybe we should demand that all lobbyists walk from their homes to the White House. It would give them a sense of what David knows…that change requires work and sacrifice.
